GRASPED The Virtual HeySummit Masterclass – Module 1

Minimum Viable Platforms

Video Transcript:

Hello and welcome. Now, in order to host a virtual summit, there are end-to-end solutions available in order for you to host and manage the entire event. There are platforms like Hey Summit that will allow you to host your summit and then make an offer for the recordings. As of the recording of this video, there is pricing associated with, Hey Summit.

What's important to note about this is that within the pricing is not included video hosting. So you will need to host your videos, whether you are recording live, or you are streaming a pre-recorded session, you'll be able to find other solutions if you go to your favourite search engine and you type in a search such as host virtual events and conferences, there are other end-to-end solutions.

Traditional web conferencing and webinar platforms such as zoom do have their own event management platform. And the pricing you'll see is typically going to be on top of any other services that you are already using within that platform. Traditional webinar platform Go-to webinar does have an event management platform within its existing service.

Now, if you are already running an online business or you have an online part of your business, you already have many of the minimum viable tools needed in order to run a virtual event. You will need to have an ability to create pages for different functions for your event. And even if you don't have the event platform, you will want to have some kind of way to host a live session with a guest presenter, and to be able to stream that event on social media platforms.

In terms of managing your attendees, you will need to have some way of being able to send automated messages. And this is going to require you to have an auto responder of some kind. You're now looking at MailChimp as an email service provider or autoresponder, you can use MailChimp or any existing service that you may already be using. One way of being able to manage your summit is to prerecord interviews with your guests.

And you can do that with free platforms using video on platforms, such as Skype. Now this will require your guests to have in use Skype. However, it's important to note that the software is free to use. You'll need to host your video content. And if you're willing to manage a more technical solution, you can use Amazon S3 cloud storage in order to both store your video and to serve it as a stream to your guests.

A video hosting solution, less technical is to use Vimeo. Vimeo will allow you to host the video and to serve it to individuals that you choose. And finally, to successfully manage the individuals that will be part of your summit. You will want to be able to have them manage your contact and event schedule using automated systems. Calendly is a booking software platform that has both a free and paid version that will allow you to book your guests and stay in contact with them by the email that they place on file within your system.

So, if you are missing many of the minimum viable platforms, you can use an end-to-end solution like Hey Summit, but it's more likely that you'll be taking some of the pieces that you already have to make them available for your summit event. And because a successful event doesn't necessarily take an end-to-end solution, we'll look at some of these pieces in detail, in addition to the end-to-end solutions that are available.

Naturally in order to bring together pieces that don't necessarily all have direct integrations, we will be using third-party cloud-based connectors, Zapier in some cases in order to integrate pieces so that we can achieve automation in our virtual event.

Okay. So with that, thanks. And I will see you in another.
