Using ThriveCart to Sell a HeySummit Ticket

Welcome back. We are inside of the event that we created inside of Hey Summit. In order to connect the alternate shopping cart system Thrivecart, we would go into the event set up. What you'll then see is that you have integrations here in this area. You're going to click on integrations. You'll then see on the right side that you can connect Thrivecart in this area, what we're going to do here is click configure.
Now the first thing we need to do is we need to get a secret word from our Thrivecart settings within Thrivecart. Once we're inside of settings, we're going to go to the API tab. What you're going to do is to go to this top tab as of the recording of this video, and you're going to click on Thrivecart order validation.
Now for the sake of this video, this word is being grayed out. You can either generate a new secret word, or you can copy the secret word that is in the API section. You are then going to copy in that secret word here in this area. Now, again, for the purposes of this video, the secret word is being greyed out, but we're going to do now is we're going to go to this second step and we're going to grab that Hey Summit, webhooks. And we're going to place that webhook inside of Thrivecart.
What we're going to do here is we're going to click view settings. What we're now going to do is click add another web hook. We are going to name the web hook, and we're going to place the web hook here in this dialog box. We're then going to save the web hook.
What you would then do is to edit your new product inside of Thrivecart. We're then going to go to the checkout area. Once you get to the checkout area inside of Thrivecart, you were going to go to the URL. And what you're going to see is a specific number. You are then going to see a number here in the URL. You're going to copy that number.
Now, assuming what you're selling here in this area is going to be free access. You're going to edit this ticket. We're going to edit the record and here in the external ID area, you're going to write in the word product, then dash, then the number. We're then going to click save. We're now going to test our URL now. So we're going to go to the checkout URL, we are then going to click continue and we're going to complete the test purchase and our test purchase is now complete.
And we can now see our test purchase individual inside of our system. So basically what we have done is we have used Thrivecart in order to sell a ticket to our closed system.
